How to reverse engineer a google indexed page?

Robots index everypage and there is always a question mark for normal person what actually google is doing on backend. Following is small attempt to give some simple steps to give the anatomy of any google indexed page.

Identify an article in the Google Index.

Go to google and search for site:informationweek.com intitle:”Verizon to Raise Termination Fees”  This will show you all articles from the “site” where “Verizon to Raise Termination Fees” appears in the article title.  Remember that, in SEO-land, “title” refers to the browser title bar hot the article headline.  If your site does not show the article headline in the title bar, this will not work.  (Also, that’s a problem from an seo perspective.)

Make sure the identified article has a “cache” button.  This shows that the article is fully indexed by Google.
